Social Media Intern

The WEPR PTA is looking for a High School level intern to help integrate a Social Media presence.

Social Media Internship

WEPR-PTA, is seeking to fill one (1) unpaid Social Media Intern (SMI) position. This position is open to high school students interested in gaining social media experience.  The SMI may use their WEPR-PTA projects and the results as a part of their personal portfolio. In addition, upon the completion of the internship, WEPR-PTA will write letters of recommendations to potential colleges or future employers.

Projects include

·         Monitoring buzz in various online environments, i.e. blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

·         Brainstorming and developing proposals for social media campaigns

·         Managing and monitoring branded social media accounts, i.e. YouTube, Facebook, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience

Candidates must be passionate about social and emerging media and exhibit creativity. Candidates must also be self-motivated, ambitious and demonstrate the ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment.

Scope of Role:

The role will incorporate (but is not limited to) the following key responsibilities:

·         Research and create unique, creative, engaging content

  • Organize and execute social media initiatives as needed.
  • Candidates must be passionate about social media, and have an upbeat attitude
  • Possess solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong social presence and proficiency of social media networks and tools

Requirements:

·         A passion for social media and digital marketing

·         Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications

·         Basic design skills desired

·         High level of communication and accountability

·         Attend monthly WEPR-PTA board meetings and events

·         Take pictures at various events

·         Record, evaluate and report all feedback given by the social audience
